The Godley Statue is a bronze statue located in Cathedral Square in Christchurch, New Zealand.

It was erected in 1867 and commemorates the founder of the Pakeha settlement of Canterbury, John Robert Godley. The statue was created by Thomas Woolner and was the first statue portraying a person in New Zealand. Godley was known as the Founder of Canterbury, even though he lived there for only two and a half years. Without his leadership, the settlement of Canterbury would not have been possible. He was outspoken, scrupulous, and an accepted authority. He was a strong advocate for settler rights and was instrumental in the establishment of the Canterbury Association, which was responsible for the settlement of Canterbury.

The statue fell off its plinth during the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake, and time capsules were discovered inside the plinth. It took four years before the statue was returned to its position.
