Welcome to Jindalee

The suburb is bounded by an east-west line near Eglinton Rocks to its north, Butler to the east (Marmion Avenue) and Quinns Rocks to the south (Hampshire Drive). West is the coast of the Indian Ocean.

Approximately 75 per cent of the suburb is still within its native state. It also contains several community parks, with the new Beach House Restaurant located at the Eden Beach Foreshore Park, with magnificent ocean views.

Apart from a medical centre on Jindalee Boulevard and a small cafe/shopping node on the beachfront at the end of Jindalee Boulevard, Jindalee has no conventional facilities at present with the Brighton Village Shopping Centre on the suburb’s eastern border catering for basic shopping needs,

Origin of name and history

The name Jindalee was proposed by the Shire of Wanneroo on 29 June 1979 and is an Aboriginal word meaning "a bare hill", most likely referring to Eglinton Hill and within the locality.

On 18 November 2003, the Western Australian Planning Commission approved the Butler-Jindalee District Structure Plan with around 900 residential lots proposed.

The Eden Beach Foreshore Playground opened on 24 September 2016 and provides a place for families to experience the playground and beaches.
