Location and Vineyard
Located in the stunning Wairau Valley, the vineyard benefits from the natural and prime growing conditions created by the nearby ancient riverbed. The dry and rocky soil of the riverbed gives intensity to Walnut Block's range of wines, particularly the aromatic Sauvignon Blanc.
The winery gets its name from a landmark 100-year-old walnut tree that stands in the middle of the Sauvignon Blanc vines.

Walnut Block Wines is a family-owned and operated vineyard and winery. Clyde and Nigel Sowman, the two brothers, combine their expertise in viticulture and wine-making with their love and admiration of fantastic wines to create their unique and exceptional range of superbly crafted Marlborough wines.
