Yarra River

Hop aboard one of the many riverboats in Southgate or Princes Walk or cruise your own boat along the Yarra to visit attractions such as Melbourne Park for the Australian Tennis Open, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Herring Island Park.

The Yarra River is now the undisputed social heart of beautiful Melbourne. A Melbourne icon, the river is the center of many spectacular events including the famous Moomba Festival, rowing regattas, the Melbourne Festival and the Dragon Boat Festivals. The Yarra River offers a variety of scenic landscapes. There are a number of barbecue and picnic areas, fishing platforms and jetties along the river banks.
