Description

John Williamson will be performing at the State Theatre Sydney for one night only on Saturday 6 July 2024.

As John slows down from the demands of touring and performs at fewer venues around the country, don’t miss this opportunity to see him, accompanied by his full band.

“I am really excited to be returning to the iconic State Theatre”, says John.

“It is going to be a very special night performing many of my favourite songs over the decades plus new ones recently released and throwing in a few good yarns in between”.

In 2024 our Aussie music icon will celebrate his 54th year in the entertainment industry. With a swag of accolades including induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame and the Australian Roll of Renown, an Order of Australia, 28 Golden Guitar Awards, over 5 million albums sold, over one billion music streams reached in 2022 and a catalogue of over 500 self-penned songs.

He has produced enduring classics such as ‘Galleries of Pink Galahs’, ‘Three Sons’, ‘Cydi’, ‘Raining on the Rock’, ‘Rip Rip Woodchip’, not to mention ‘True Blue’. The Mallee-born songwriter’s 52 albums have traversed Australia, moving between larrikin humour and touching pathos.

Perhaps John’s greatest legacy is making Australians proud of their country and of who they are.

Don’t miss out – State Theatre Sydney on Saturday 6 July, before he finally ‘hangs his hat in QLD’ as the song says.
