Description

Lake Parramatta Reserve And Recreation Area is a natural attraction located 2 kilometres from Parramatta CBD.

It covers over 70 hectares of bushland and offers a relaxing and beautiful day by the water.

The lake is open for swimming from October and is fully patrolled by lifeguards. Visitors can also rent boats such as kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, and stand-up paddleboards from Parramatta Rowboats.

For those who prefer to stay on land, there are three walking tracks to explore. The Reserve also has grassy areas for picnics and barbecues, as well as playgrounds for children.

Lake Parramatta Reserve And Recreation Area has significant Aboriginal history and heritage. Evidence of Aboriginal-Burramattagal clan usage and occupation can still be seen, such as shelter caves, hand-stencils, and midden-deposits.

Visitors can easily reach the Reserve in North Parramatta by driving or taking public transport. It is a perfect day-trip location to escape the city and enjoy Sydney's natural scenery. Note that swimming is only allowed from October.
