Glasshouse Rocks and Pillow Lava Narooma are two captivating sites located at either end of Surf Beach in Narooma.

Glasshouse Rocks, at the southern end, is an imposing and beautiful sight that dates back to between 510 and 440 million years old. It is a perfect destination for photography enthusiasts. On the northern end of Surf Beach, you can see a display of igneous pillow lava, formed through the flow of a submarine volcano. This unique formation is a thrilling experience for geology lovers.

The best time to visit Glasshouse Rocks and Pillow Lava is during low tide, as it allows for exploration and appreciation of the natural formations. To get to Glasshouse Rocks, you can walk around the headland of the southern end from the Surf Beach car park. For views of the headland, follow Glasshouse Rocks Road, veer left onto Cemetery Road, and park at Narooma Cemetery car park. From there, follow the footpath past the cemetery towards the white fence, then walk around the fence into the bush to access the track leading to Surf Beach. It is important to note that the tracks are not suitable for young children, the mobility impaired, or the elderly.
