Description

Mount Larcom is a mountain located in the Mount Larcom locality of the Gladstone Region in Queensland, Australia.

The mountain has an elevation of 632 metres and is situated approximately 10.8 kilometres to the east of the town. The climb to the top is challenging, and it is recommended that visitors are adequately prepared. The hike to the summit provides stunning views of the surrounding terrain, including the coast and other mountains.

Mount Larcom is located in the southwestern corner of the locality, intersecting the Bruce Highway and Gladstone–Mount Larcom Road (State Route 58), approximately 70 kilometres south of the city of Rockhampton. The area includes several other mountains, including Bottle Tree Hill, Curley, and Limestone Hill.

Visitors can reach Mount Larcom by car or train. Mount Larcom railway station is on the North Coast railway line, with long-distance passenger trains operated by Queensland Rail stopping here, and a direct line connects it to Gladstone.

Mount Larcom has several heritage-listed sites, including the Mount Larcombe Station Original Homestead Site, Mount Larcom Cemetery, and Mount Larcom Showground, all of which are worth a visit.

The Mount Larcom and District Show Society organize an annual agricultural show in June of each year. The show features various competitions, including livestock competitions, ute muster, woodchopping, and fireworks.
