Description

Morwell National Park, located in Victoria's western Gippsland region, is a stunning natural reserve spanning the Strzelecki Ranges. Covering 565 hectares (1,400 acres), the park is easily accessible via the Princes Highway, just 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) south of Morwell.

It is a haven for rare and endangered plant and animal species in the region.

The park is home to a preserved remnant of wet sclerophyll forests that were once widespread. Adjacent to this ecosystem are unspoiled rainforest remnants thriving in deep creek gullies. With a diverse habitat, the park boasts 320 plant species, including five rare or threatened species and an impressive 44 species of orchids.

Morwell National Park is teeming with a wide range of animals, with 129 native fauna species recorded so far. The park is a captivating destination for wildlife enthusiasts.
