Description

Beleura House and Garden Mornington is a historic house with a rich history of music, art, and gardens.

It is situated on five acres of gardens and features the original furnishings of its last owner, John Tallis. The house, built in 1863 by merchant James Butchart, is a state-listed 19th century heritage building. It became the summer residence of Sir George Tallis and his family, with Sir George being the Chairman of the J C Williamson's Theatre company.

The house is notable for its collection of original furnishings, artifacts, and antiques that belonged to John Tallis. Visitors can explore a stunning collection of art and paintings from the 17th century to present day. Beleura House also has a music recital center that attracts some of Australia's best musicians. It hosts an annual program of music performances and features the world's largest piano built by Australian piano acoustic engineer Wayne Stuart.

The five-acre garden at Beleura House is remarkable, with exotic and rare plants. It includes unique areas such as a palm grove, woodland garden, and fernery. Visitors can enjoy catered tours and morning teas throughout the year, which include a tour of the house, a walk around the garden, and a morning tea in the Music Room.

Beleura House and Garden Mornington is open for visitors year-round, with the best time to visit being during the spring season when the garden is in full bloom. To get there from Melbourne, visitors can take the EastLink tollway and exit at the Mornington Peninsula Freeway. They should then follow the signs to Mornington Peninsula and take the Moorooduc Highway exit. Beleura House and Garden will be on the right after turning
