Description

Looking for a fun day out with the family? Look no further than the Batemans Bay Snorkelling Trail, starting at Maloneys Beach, just 12 kilometres north of Batemans Bay.

Maloneys Beach is the perfect spot for snorkelling, but also offers a range of other amenities to make for the perfect family outing. Enjoy the lovely grassy reserve, toilets, boat ramp, electric barbecues, and covered picnic area.

After stopping by Maloneys Beach, continue down the snaking coastline of Batemans Bay to Sunshine Cove Beach, just five kilometres south. With its vibrantly coloured pebbles and exotic wildlife, Sunshine Cove offers some truly spectacular snorkelling. Keep an eye out for rocky reefs, seaweed beds, and a wide range of marine life such as red morwong, luderick, bream, lobsters, gropers, and abalone.

Next up is Guerilla Bay, eight kilometres south of Sunshine Cove. With crystal blue waters and some of the oldest, most picturesque rocks lining Eurobodalla's stunning coastline, this bay is not only perfect for snorkelling, but for nature enthusiasts too. End your day with a lovely picnic, or take a hike to Burrewurra Point to see the WWII bunker.

The best time to go snorkelling is during the summer months between December and February. The water is warm, and there's plenty of daylight to explore. Maloneys Beach is located just 12 kilometres north of Batemans Bay, and is easily accessible by car. Simply follow the coastline south to reach Sunshine Cove Beach, and then continue down to Guerilla Bay.
