Description

Bollygum Park Kinglake is an enchanting two and a half acre playground based on the award-winning children's book, Bollygum by Garry Fleming.

The park, located in Kinglake, provides a magical experience for both children and parents alike.

As you wander through the shady paths in the park, you can visit various parts of the playground each with its unique set of features. Start by exploring Bower Birds Nest, which has sparkling blue treasures. Cross the creek using the bridge, to visit platypus, whose house sits on the bank of the dry creek bed. Continue down the path, which is bordered by native plantings and information panels about the flora, and indigenous message sticks to Wombats house, with its artistically carved story wall, slides, mirrors, and hiding spots. You can even enjoy Wombat's favourite fishing spot by the large sandpit and use the fishing poles left by wombat.

Frogmouth's House is the main play structure of the park and has senior and junior sections so no one is left out. This section has many features including a climbing wall, monkey bars, rope bridges, flying fox, wave slide, bird nest swings, a dual metal slide for racing (under cover), and many noisy musical elements, and a talk and listen tube.

The park also has an architecturally designed skate park adjoining the playground with a bowl for those who enjoy skateboarding.

The park is open every day of the week including weekends and public holidays. The playground and skate park are suitable for all seasons, but summer months (December to February) are the most favorable due to its outdoor activities.
