Black Swan State Theatre Company presents
Barracking for the Umpire
By Andrea Gibbs
After a critically acclaimed 2022 season in Perth, Barracking for the Umpire is heading to the Red Earth Arts Precinct as part of its 2024 regional WA tour.
This family drama tackles head-on the fragility of the human body and the impacts of the great game on our players, our family, and our community.
Donnybrook Football Club is set to honour its greatest son – Doug Williams. Hard as flint. Salt of the earth. Wife, Delveen, by his side, riding every bump with him. Feeling every head knock. All the kids are flying home to join the celebration. But after years of the game he loves, the sure hands of Williams are starting to fumble the ball.
