Description

Horsham's Public Art and Heritage CBD Trail is a walking trail developed by Horsham Rural City Council.

The trail is divided into two sections; the CBD Trail and the Gardens-River Trail. This description only covers the CBD Trail section.

The trail showcases a selection of Horsham city's heritage places, which offer significant aesthetic, historic, scientific, technical or social value to past, present and future generations. As you embark on the trail, you will notice many other interesting places on your journey.

Horsham Rural City Council has been active in sourcing public art for the city. You'll encounter a diverse range of public art installations created by local and international artists along the trail. Public art stimulates the vibrancy of public spaces, enhances the identity of Horsham, and enriches the region's cultural life.

Horsham's annual "Art is..." festival takes place every year, showcasing a diverse program of contemporary performing and visual arts. Each festival has a theme that reflects an important element of the local environment or community.

The Horsham's Public Art and Heritage CBD Trail showcases various points of interest, including:

  1. "Post Office Bell" 2008 - A bell installation created by Dr Anton Hasell, featuring the Horsham Post office bell and a corella figurine.
  2. Jubilee Hall / Horsham Regional Art Gallery - Opened in June 1924, Jubilee Hall is a historic Methodist Church that now houses the Horsham Regional Art Gallery.
