Osprey Environmental Centre Brisbane

Osprey House Environmental Centre is located on Dohles Rocks Road in Griffin, a short drive from North Lakes, Brisbane.

The center is nestled on the banks of the Pine River amidst the branching arms of the mangroves. It is a true environmental treasure trove of information and hands-on displays set amongst the trees and mangroves and staffed by knowledgeable volunteers. The area is small but has great boardwalks, bird hides, and areas set aside for viewing coastal wildlife. The center features an osprey nest CCTV viewing, where visitors can watch the ospreys in their natural habitat. There is also a mangrove boardwalk that allows visitors to explore the mangrove ecosystem and observe the wildlife that inhabits it. The river viewing platform and bird hide provide a great opportunity for birdwatching and observing the river ecosystem. For families with children, there is a small playground where kids can play while parents relax on the picnic benches and barbecue area. The center also has a gift shop that sells souvenirs, books, and other items related to the environment and wildlife. The center provides a unique opportunity to explore the mangrove ecosystem and observe the wildlife that inhabits it. The knowledgeable volunteers and staff are always available to answer questions and provide information about the area.
