Description

Currawong Bush Park is a nature park located in outer eastern Melbourne.

It covers a vast area of 59 hectares and is home to many native species of flora and fauna. The park also has archaeological sites significant to the Wurundjeri people, the Traditional Owners of the area.

The park has a rich history, including evidence of the presence of the Wurundjeri people. It also contains buildings of State historical significance.

Geographically, the park is situated on the eastern bank of the Mullum Mullum Creek in the Yarra Valley. It is surrounded by bushland and is home to the Mullum Mullum Creek Linear Park.

Currawong Bush Park offers visitors the opportunity to view and interact with native flora and fauna, such as the Manna Gum and Eastern Grey Kangaroo.

There are several walking trails and places to explore within the park, making it ideal for hiking enthusiasts. The park also offers audio guides to enhance the visitor experience.

Regulations are in place to protect the park's flora and fauna. Dogs are not permitted, and motorized vehicles are limited to designated areas. Camping is prohibited, and fires can only be used in specific locations.

While there is no on-site ranger, Currawong Bush Park remains a popular destination. Investments are needed to upgrade facilities and address ecological threats, and three staff members would be required to manage the park effectively.
