Description

Bowman Park is a public park located on the Crystal Brook in South Australia.

It covers an area of approximately 40ha and is named after the Bowman Brothers, settlers in the area around 1850. The park is open to the public from sunrise to sunset and is a popular spot for both locals and tourists.

Facilities in the park include public restrooms and electric barbecues. It is also dog-friendly and has a nature playground that blends into the river red gums, providing a natural experience for family picnics.

The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including kangaroos that are commonly spotted late in the afternoon and early morning. Echidnas, Australian spiny anteaters, also visit the park on occasion.

One of the park's notable features is a permanent spring that feeds into the Crystal Brook, making it lively and diverse. This is unique as the brook is typically dry in most places. A weed reduction program was initiated in 2005 to address this issue. It is considered one of the most beautiful parks in South Australia.
