This popular recreational location is a pleasant oasis in the middle of an industrialized suburb that is great for a relaxed day out with family and friends.

Coburg Lake Reserve is a great open space for a picnic, with BBQs and tables with benches available for visitors. The reserve also houses a large undercover BBQ area with chairs and tables, toilets, and water taps. Visitors can watch the ducks and swans float on the lake, take their dogs for a walk or let their kids play on the play equipment. The lake has many water birds, including ducks and lots of ibis, which can be a nuisance, but visitors can shoo them away if necessary. Coburg Lake Reserve is a great place to go for a morning walk, jog, or bike ride. The reserve has a series of serpentine pathways lined with mature trees, centered around a lake formed by building a weir in the Merry Creek.
