Description
Burk Salter Wines is a boutique Cellar Door owned and managed by Greg and Jane Salter and their sons Ryan and Nathan who become the 4th generation on the Vineyard.
The wines are produced using grapes sourced exclusively from the Salter family property in Paisley near Blanchetown.
The first vines were planted by Burk in 1933 and today the Salter legacy has been carried on by his son Greg with further expansion of the vineyard and development of the Burk Salter wine label.
Cellar Door
The Cellar Door is situated on Paisley Road in a building that was once the old Mobil Service Station built, owned and run by Burk and his wife Yvonne in the 1950’s. The mechanics garage now houses the Cellar Door and it has been fitted out with beautiful Red Gum bars and accessories with a history of the Salter family adorning the walls.
A range of award and medal winning white and red wine are available for tasting.
The hour long tour is conducted aboard a restored 1927 Chevrolet Truck and takes in the extensive bird life, the flora in the area and historical features.
Accomodation
Built in the 1950’s, this Mobil Service Station has been lovingly renovated to accommodate 4 guests. Overlooking the Salter family vineyard, Murray River and cliffs provides the ideal vista to awaken to.
