The picnic area offers a great base to explore this stunning park. The picnic area is located beside the Wilson River and offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy some time under the shade of the trees while relishing the tranquil surroundings.

There are several exciting activities to engage in at the picnic area. You can explore the park's scenic walking tracks, which are perfect for immersing yourself in the sub-tropical and warm temperate rainforest. There are three different walks to choose from, each offering its unique experience. The Botanic Walk is a 300m gentle and easy loop, while the Palm Grove Walk is a 1km walk with an easy grade. This walk leads from the Wilson River picnic area through blue gums and lush green ferns to Glade picnic area beside Wilson River. The Waterfall Walk is the longest track at 3.5km and is an ideal choice for those who prefer moderate challenges. This walk offers a fantastic experience, enabling hikers to pass close to a magnificent strangler fig, then through sub-tropical and warm temperate rainforest to a waterfall and pool. The waterfall and pool offer a cool and refreshing break from the hike and is an ideal place to enjoy a leisurely dip.
