In Detail

Award winning Viticulturist Phil May heads AbbeyVale. The lakeside Cellar Door facility is open daily from 10am to 5pm. The next generation of AbbeyVale wines will showcase the varietal treasures of Margaret River. Guinea fowl feature in the new branding to reflect the companys minimalist vineyard chemical input philosophy. Visitors will see hundreds of Guinea fowl hard at work daily in the vineyard as part of the pest control program. Current release wines include the Vat 351 Chardonnay 2003, an unwooded style using selected parcels of grapes grown by several of our Margaret River vineyards; the Margaret River Chardonnay 2002, a barrel fermented, intense and rich style that is great with seafood and chicken dishes; the Vat 427 Shiraz Cabernet 2002, a medium bodied blend of the classic varieties sourced from the Blackwood Valley and Margaret River regions. Several other styles will be offered exclusively at the Cellar sales facility, such as the Vat 253 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc.
