In Detail
There are three generations of family winemaking tradition in the Conti Wines history. Sicilian immigrant Carmelo Conti bought the property in 1927 to grow vegetables for the city market, before planting vines in the 1940s. Son Paul then took the reins, as well as the reins of a draught horse called Mary, while also buying land in Mariginiup and Carabooda to create 17 hectares of vines. Paul's son Jason has also been in the family business since 1992, which currently produces Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet, Grenache Shiraz, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir.
