The name Knee Deep in Margaret River reflects a passionate commitment to premium winemaking, exceptional food and friendly service reflecting the quality of the region, and the laid back Margaret River state of mind in which you can immerse yourself.

Set on 34 hectares, with an area of twenty two hectares under vine, the vineyard is in the renowned Wilyabrup area of the Margaret River wine region. Our focus is on the production of premium quality, estate grown wines. A variety of wines are produced and all are available for tasting at out cellar door where friendly staff will greet you and guide you through our wine range. Winemakers Bruce Dukes, and previously Bob Cartwright, bring a wealth of experience to the Knee Deep wine range. Both winemakers have received national and international acclaim. Knee Deep is rated a 5 Star Winery by James Halliday.

Our commitment to fine wine is supported by our focus on fine food and service in our award winning restaurant. With a seasonally changing menu utilising fresh local produce our chefs bring new and exciting dishes to our guests. With creativity and meticulous attention to detail our chefs produce dishes delivering flavour, intensity, aroma and texture into an inspirational picture on the plate. Our unique ‘Trust the Chef™’ menu option, plus wine matching, is a firm favourite with our guests.

Knee Deep Wines was established in 2000 from farmlands by Dr Phillip and Sue Childs. Knee Deep is a family operated vineyard, cellar door and restaurant with national wholesale wine distribution. Knee Deep’s first commercial vintage was 2004 and since then many wine awards have been achieved from a stunning range of wines produced. Our flagship wines, the Limited Release range, are named after the three daughters of Philip and Sue Childs - Kelsea, Kim and Hayley.

Weddings & Events

“If you can imagine it, we can make it happen.” We offer private evening dining or functions within our restaurant for large groups. We cater for all types of weddings – whether it be a formal, white wedding, a relaxed family barbeque or a bold statement with a helicopter entrance. Styles range from an evening of cocktails, ‘family style’ banquet, plated menus and all things in between. The proximity of the restaurant to the vineyard makes for some fantastic photo opportunities and a very relaxed atmosphere.
