In Detail

Matt Hale is renowned for being one of the favourite acts in the Fringe World program with a sold out 44 shows under his belt.  Matt was nominated for a Fringe World award and sold out over 6000 seats in 2017, following on from his sell-out season in 2016.
MINDFOOLNESS will play three shows at Sunset Verandah on the Scarborough Beach esplanade, 20 shows at Elizabeth’s Palace (the new Noodle Palace location at Elizabeth Quay), rounding off the season with six shows at Noodle’s sister venue - Flour Palace (at the Flour Factory, Queen St).
Combining the fun of total audience participation with the incredible abilities of the mind, Matt turns the traditional hypnosis show on its head, highlighting the talents and creativity of the volunteers for big laughs instead of embarrassing them.   Enjoy the show from the stage or the audience, you choose!
Matt’s performances on stage present a unique and modern brand of hypno-laughs.  No two shows are ever the same, and the show is the perfect family outing that is suitable for all ages.
Matt hypnotises his volunteers with hilarious (but tasteful!) consequences as their imaginations work overtime!  Expect to see hypnotised volunteers transported into hilarious routines and unleashing talents they never knew they had.
Matt's shows are fast paced, funny and full of your guests.  Both audience and volunteers will have an amazing experience that they will remember for a long time.
“I’m a cliché buster… no shows feature swinging watches or turning people into chickens!  I like to take the mystery out of hypnosis and show people how and why it works, and even let them experience it themselves,” says Matt.
To do this Matt utilises the power of suggestion to unlock the hidden talents of the audience.
