In Detail

ANZAC Cottage located at 38 Kalgoorlie Street, Mt Hawthorn is a brick and tile home built in one day on February 12, 1916.  The Cottage, built entirely by voluntary labour, had a two-fold use: as a memorial to those who lost their lives at the Gallipoli landing and as a home for a returned wounded soldier from that conflict and his family.

The Cottage was lovingly and authentically restored  by the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia (WA Branch) in the 1990s and is now in use as a museum, detailing the Cottage's unique history and dedicated to the honour and respect of veterans of conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
