In Detail

Three varieties are grown, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The couple’s first wines appeared in 1995 with a big, ripe, almost black-coloured Cabernet Sauvignon. Though soft it was not a style for the delicate palate and quickly sold out.``Generally the unwooded white blend, a mixture of pineapple and citrus flavours, is a lively, fresh, easy drinking fruit-driven style. The 1998 won gold at the Mount Barker show, a tremendous shot in the arm after the two previous vintages picked up bronze and silver.

Overview

Minot, which takes its name from a small Chateau in the Loire Valley in France, is the husband and wife venture of the Miles family, producing just two wines from the 4-hectare plantings of semillon, sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon.
