In Detail

Evans & Tate found its Margaret River home in 1974 on the northern bank of the Wilyabrup River. Known for its well-drained gravel soils, Mediterranean climate and maritime influence, it was the perfect location on which to plant vines.

Since these humble beginnings our winemaking philosophy at Evans & Tate has focused on maximising fruit quality in the vineyard, along with producing wines that balance power and elegance. Evans & Tate wines tell the story of our home and the year that was.

Our senior winemaker, Matthew Byrne has been with Evans & Tate for over 15 years. He has been pivotal in the style development and the quality of our wine, cumulating in our recent release of the 2012 The Evans & Tate Cabernet Sauvignon. At the 2015 Langton's Margaret River Wine Show, this wine won two trophies (Best Red of Show, Best Cabernet Sauvignon). Evans & Tate was awarded an additional three trophies, including Best Exhibitor.

Visist our modern cellar door for a complimentary tasting of our award winning wines. The Evans & Tate Redbrook Cellar Door captures the charismatic spectrum of variety that Margaret River has to offer. From the decks of the cellar door, you survey a landscape of vineyard that have yielded vintages for over 40 years. Kangaroos hop in and out of the vines and in the distance, from the other side of the National Park, the pounding of the waves is just audible.
