In Detail

A family tradition, set on the banks of the Harvey River

Like many Europeans, Gisuseppe Sorgiovanni (Joe) travelled from his small village of Caulonia, Italy in 1928 to start a new life in Western Australia. Joe settled on a small farm on Third Street, in Harvey, where he toiled the fertile soil of the Harvey River flat lands, now known as a prime horticulture region.

In November 1999, the Sorgiovanni family developed a new winery due to the enormous growth of viticulture within the region. Thus Harvey River Estate was born.

Harvey River Estate offers a variety of styles that reflect the diversity within the Geographe, Margaret River and Great Southern appellations.

Our range of quality wines are carefully crafted by accomplished winemaker Stuart Pierce, who has many years experience in the wine making industry across diverse regions such as France, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia. Winner of the prestigious Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy in 2010, Stuart’s skilful craft is well recognised throughout the industry.

The ever expanding range of exclusive wine labels within Harvey River Estate include Harvey River Estate, Billy Goat Hill Estate, Stone Gully, Joseph River Estate, Fishbone, Grey Elk, Magellan and
Graci Cider.
