In DetailOpening Times

A spectacular 420 acre vineyard located just two hours drive from Perth in the heart of Western Australia’s Geographe wine region. Set in some of the most picturesque countryside in the South West amongst the orchards and grazing properties of the rolling Donnybrook hills.

The Donnybrook area has a very consistent higher rainfall climate, and being inland and elevated, has four distinct seasons. Apart from being a HACCP accredited vineyard, the estate’s environmental focus is continually on reducing chemical inputs and fuel consumption. This objective is largely met by grazing sheep for six months of the year.

The combination of classic Jarrah/ Marri soils and temperate climate provide an ideal environment for the production of wines with richness and refinement. Being a slightly warmer region, the wines are typically fruit driven. Brookhampton whites tend to have a crisp, zesty finish and reds are developing substantial body weight with vine maturation. Showing much potential, the wines are crafted by award winning winemaker James Kellie, of Harewoods Estate. With substantial frontage to SW Highway and only 4km from Donnybrook township, the property is well positioned for future tourism development.

Hidden in the valley of Brookhampton’s impressive vineyard is the famed concert site that attracts thousands to the annual summer concert. Set in a fabulous natural amphitheatre amongst the vines, the concert arena provides excellent acoustics in a breathtaking setting for up to 6,000 patrons. As the sun sets into an often brilliant display on the first weekend in February each year, the evening lifts the curtain on a truly memorable outdoor concert.

Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon are the estate’s most sought after varieties, whilst Grenache, Tempranillo, Viognier, and Riesling are proving to be popular new additions to Brookhampton’s expanding range.
