Winning golds for its 2007 Chardonnay & Verdelho in 2008, followed by a 5 Star Rating by James Halliday in his 2010 wine companion and scoring top marks in Ray Jordan’s 2010 WA wine guide certainly put Harris River Estate (and Collie!) on the serious wine drinkers’ map. On the lighter side of things the traditional classic wines are complemented by their funky and increasingly popular ‘Tickle-me-Pink’ range, these late harvest blends are a real hit with all ages and palates! Also watch out for their new trade-marked pink bubbly called WINK (Wine IN a Keg) – this will be release early 2010.
RESTAURANT : Boasting two award winning chefs, the homely and rustic restaurant serves up 5 star quality traditional Australia fayre at affordable prices. Travis and Kacey complement local produce with their daily freshly made sauces and condiments. The restaurant can also cater for group functions such as weddings, birthdays, company functions and family get-togethers. On the last Sunday of each month Tapas is served along with some great live music at the wineries “TAPAS N TUNES” family Sunday session, a free bouncy castle is provided for the kidz making this a great day out for all!

EVENTS : Music : In additional to the monthly Family Sunday Sessions, Harris River Estate runs regular music festivals, their aptly named ‘Winery with a Twist’ music festival has four main events during the year – Spring Fever (Sept), Summer Nightz (December), Autumn Turns (Mar,) & Winter Rythmn ‘n’ Blues (Jul) check-out their website for more details. Events : Kicking-off with their inargural mini-highland games on 24th January 2010 Harris River Estate is always willing to try something new!! Collie was actually discovered by Dr Alexander Collie who originally came from the North East of Scotland so now Harris River Estate is bringing a bit of Scotland to Collie!
TRAINING & CONFERERING : The winery building offers a number of different conference and training venue options dependant on group size and event type. Julie Hillier, General Manager is also a qualified facilitator and trainer who can work with your company to design and deliver your events tailored to suit your business needs.
THE TEAM : Yes it is all about the wines…. but it’s also about the people, Harris River Estate has a small and close-knit core team. Our Senior Winemaker Jane Gilham and Vineyard Manager Ray Dennis manage the winery side of the business, Chefs Travis Dittman and Kacey Riley are always cooking up a storm in the kitchen and principal owners Karl & Julie Hillier manage the overall business, with Karl focusing on Australian and overseas wine sales and exposure and Julie on marketing and business development and in the longer term setting up and running the management development and training centre at HRE.
