In Detail

With the vast distances we travel in our wide brown land, the motor car has played an undeniable role in the development and settling of our country.  The South West Rail and Heritage Centre will pay homage to these “Antique Autos” at our Open Day on Sunday, August 27 from 10 am to 2pm.  A great collection of vehicles from South West car collectors will be on show, testifying to the dedication and commitment of those who have lovingly restored these magnificent machines. Complementing this display will be the SWRHC resident Boyanup Foundation Blacksmiths in action, our great collection of vintage agricultural machinery, the ever-growing model railway layout, and of course, the Men’s Shed showing off their skilled handiwork as well as vintage railway rolling stock.  The South West Rail and Heritage Centre is in Turner Street Boyanup and entry is by donation.  Light refreshments are available from the iconic Picnic Van, a converted vintage vehicle itself and there will be a sausage sizzle to quell those hunger pangs.
