In Detail

Swan Valley Wines was established by Peter Hoffman, who moved to WA with wife Paula from Kenya in November 1961. He bought the six-hectare property, as a superannuation investment, in 1989, while working for the state's Agriculture Board where he was employed for 28 years. The first release of wines came in 1999, with the award-winning Chenin, a Grenache and Shiraz. A number of fortified ports, sherries and a muscat were also produced, former Houghton winemaker and university lecturer John Griffiths guiding winery as consultant.
