Thermomix by Concept Building Design

Thermomix by Concept Building Design

Designed by Robert Forgione, Tommaso Trentin, and the Concept Building Design team, the new Thermomix headquarters for Australia/New Zealand was built by Glenwarlock Construction Services over a ten-month period.

The existing office structure was required to be transformed into ‘the face’ of Thermomix Australia, with the company colours incorporated throughout the interior and exterior of the development without overpowering the design.

The exterior was envisaged to resonate the powerful blades and mechanisms of the Thermomix machine, achieved through the use of Ultrabond panels. By blending the feature greens and greys into the curves and blades, the concept remained continuous throughout the building.

Existing face-brick walls were filled in and rendered using HardieTex Sheeting, transforming the new exterior into one that possesses a modern and contemporary style.

The curved lines of the facade draw you towards the building and direct you to the main entry statement, consisting of a white lightbox that ‘floats’ above the full-height frameless curved glass entry. This leads into a full-height void reception area finished with natural stone and feature lights, further reiterated through the boardrooms.

Created by Mink Studio Design, the interior echoes the lime and grey colour scheme through pattered textured carpet, glass privacy screens and partitions. Artisan Furnishings built slick, clean-line cabinetry for the demo rooms and kitchens.

The Thermomix brand is successfully represented throughout this building thanks to clever design and innovative building materials.
