Anemone | $900 (edition 1 of 2)
Digital prints on silk, wood
Artist | Nathan Beard is a Perth-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice is primarily engaged with exploring the influences of culture, memory and biography, in particular via the prism of his Thai-Australian heritage.
Artwork | Anemone, as featured in the Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award 2015
exhibition, comprises two prints of a floral bouquet, photographed on the casket of the artist’s uncle during his funeral in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand. Printed on diaphanous sheets of synthetic silk, hung off a wooden frame, the layers of the still-life shift subtly as the viewer moves around the work.
Effect of Dose on Taste (New Phase).
Effect of Dose on Taste (New Phase) Single edition photographic print of artwork | $1000. Found banner, canvas, and photographic documentation (1189x841mm)
Artist | Teelah George is a multi-disciplinary visual artist from Perth who looks at archival information and processes as a way in which to examine the relationship between narrative and representation, excavating the parallel ambiguities in both historical record and visual art.
Artwork | The artwork employs a weathered vinyl banner and photographic documentation to raise questions about the effects of time and context on print and the life cycles of all things. It can be viewed at the Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award 2015 exhibition.
