Maximising sweeping river views was paramount to this clients’ brief, as
was achieving a contemporary, modern home.
Space is maximised on this 406sqm corner block by creating a three-level floorplan, spanning 530sqm in total. Volume of the four bedrooms, two bedrooms and powder room is further enhanced through three-metre-high ceilings.
A combination of hard-edged and soft materials was applied to the design, both internally and externally. One such material was steel, used not only as a decorative feature but also to provide window protection and privacy to the bedrooms upstairs.
Off-form concrete used externally connects inside and out by flowing through to the foyer and living room.
True craftsmanship is easily seen throughout this home, but the curved off-form concrete wall separating the dining and the family areas is truly incredible.
Externally, the light-filled courtyard, infinity-edge pool and alfresco area - complete with pizza oven – invite the outside in through wide-spanning, stacking doors.
Finishing and fittings have not been overlooked in the design, with the kitchen showcasing Miele appliances. Kerlite flooring throughout, and an eco-smart fireplace continue the home’s high standards. The mirrored plinth in the dining room creates an illusion of floatation, further expanding volume of this area.
