SALTER POINT

Echelon is proud to present its latest luxury home in Salter Point – Djarlgarro, coming from the Nyoongar words ‘Djarlgarro Beeliar’, meaning Canning River.

The home takes in breathtaking, elevated 180-degree views of the Canning River
from Rossmoyne, Shelley Foreshore and Salter Point, across to the wetlands of Bodkin Park and Clontarf.

The concept design was a collaboration between the builders Adam Harry (Echelon Group) and Steeg Banham of Banham Architects.
Architecturally designed to suit a challenging block with significant design constraints relating to size, height, overlook and shading, the home boasts a striking facade with a high-end commercial influence.

Cross ventilation and an extensive use of glazing, along with many other sustainable features, have secured this home a 6-star Greenstar rating.

Floor-to-ceiling structural glazing and windows (more than 3m tall) were achieved despite height restrictions, and 7m-wide, floor-to-ceiling stackable sliding doors completely open the living area to the pool below.

Further enhancing this awe-inspiring area is the 9m cantilevered, suspended slab that seems to float over the pool.

The floorplan has an ‘upside-down’ design, with the kitchen, living, master, study, laundry, and theatre areas on same level as the garage. All major rooms, including the bedrooms and living areas, have spectacular river views, with the master bedroom looking more like a five-star hotel suite.

Despite the home’s modern contemporary style, the bedrooms still have a warm, aesthetic ambience to them, juxtaposing the harder lines of the living areas.

Taking just eight months to complete this two-storey, multi-million dollar home sets a new standard for building in Perth, proving time is equally important as quality and cost.
