Outgrowing their original home, these clients were in desperate need of more space for their young family. Their new abode needed to be stylish and modern, with entertaining areas and room for growing children.
Cassari Group was enlisted to design and construct this home, based on a sloping 702sqm lot. The ground floor was constructed with traditional double-brick and cavity insulation. Cassari Group built the upper-level addition using timber frame, with R2.5 insulation. Externally, the walls are finished in face brick and textured render.
Commercial window frames and high-performance Comfort Plus glass installed throughout the home, along with the internal ceiling’s R4.0 insulation, combine to provide the home with very high energy efficiency.
Downstairs, the client requested a large open-plan living area that opened to the rear patio, further extending their entertaining space.
To achieve this, 14m of bi-fold doors open from the kitchen to the outdoor area, inviting the outside in. Commercial frames were used for these doors to create a more sophisticated look with extra durability.
Internally, the kitchen takes on a minimalistic industrial style, with finishes that mirror the portico at the front of the home. Coloured concrete with waterfall edges was formed and sealed for the benchtops and large centre bench, a finish that was repeated on the adjoining wall.
Throughout the property, finishes and fittings are simple yet stylish, culminating in a spacious home with which the clients are extremely happy.
