Covering an extensive area of 63,902 hectares (157,910 acres), the park is located approximately 820 kilometers (510 miles) northwest of Sydney, with the nearest town being Bourke situated 70 kilometers (43 miles) to the north.

As you enter the park, you will notice the captivating beauty of Mount Gunderbooka and the Gunderbooka Range located within the park. Here, visitors can indulge in an exciting and challenging hike with exceptional views of the surrounding landscapes. The park is significantly located adjacent to both the Darling River and the Toorale National Park, which enhances the magnificence of the area.
