Description

Fujisawa Zen Garden Glen Innes is a peaceful botanical garden in New South Wales, designed for meditation and relaxation.

The garden features 10 tall pine trees that represent the islands and sea of Japan. Visitors can meditate and rake patterns on the white quartz pebbles, symbolizing the swirls and circles of the sea.

The garden's white quartz feature is surrounded by Japanese floral plants such as camellias, azaleas, bamboo, conifers, maples, and cherry blossoms. There are also tall pines and four native caged birds on-site. The remaining garden area provides grassy areas for picnics and relaxation.

Visitors can participate in cultural activities such as origami, green tea, calligraphy, Obon dancing, watercolor art, and language lessons. The host, Christine, caters to school visits and offers complimentary tea, coffee, and green tea. Japanese miso soup, ramen, rice crackers, and sweets are available for purchase.

The garden is open year-round and welcomes visitors during all seasons. It is accessible by car or bus transportation, located a five-minute drive from the Glen Innes town center. The garden follows strict health measures to ensure visitor safety during the current global pandemic.

Christine, the host, warmly welcomes visitors with the traditional Japanese greeting, Irrashaimase.
